LIGHT BOX AND OPTICAL SET |
Code:GP - 501.2 |
A set of optical apparatus for all types of optical experiment involving reflection, refraction and colour mixing. The principal component is a robust light box finished in Matt black with a 12V 36W S.B.C. axial filament lamp with 0.75m of twin flex. One end of the box has a cylindrical convex lens in an adjustable sliding mount which allows a parallel, convergent or divergent beam to be produced. The other end of the box has a triple aperture system for colour mixing experiments, the lateral apertures being provided with adjustable hinged mirrors. All apertures in the box are provided with vertical channels to hold slit plates and/or colour filters.
Optical Accessories included :
- Perspex Blocks(Prism): 1 rectangular, 1 semi-circular, 1 triangular prism 60° x 60° x 60° , 1triangular prism 90° x 60° x 30°, 1 triangular prism 90° x 45° x 45°.
- Cylindrical Perspex lenses: 1 double concave, 1 double convex(both with the same radius curvature) 1 thick double convex.
- Mirror : 1 plane glass(mounted on stand).
- Black Plastic Slit Plates : 1 with three narrow slits & one narrow slit, 1 with four narrow slits and one wide slit.
- Set of Eight Colour Filters: Primary red, primary green, primary blue, cyan, violet, yellow, orange, magenta.
- Set of Eight Coloured Cards: Red, green, blue, violet, orange, cyan, yellow, pink.
The set is supplied complete with a spare lamp.
Dimensions of light box 170 x 90 x 55mm.

EYE MODEL, FUNCTIONAL |
Code: GP - 509.1 |
This unique model permits demonstration of the physical principles upon which the eye operates, including defects of vision and their correction.
The lens and ciliary body are flexible, the lens itself being fluid filled and connected to a syringe. The syringe can be used to vary the pressure in the lens and hence its thickness, to simulate accommodation. The length of the ‘eyeball’ may be varied to simulate long or short sight and lenses to be used to demonstrate correction via spectacles.
A major advantage of this model is that actual images may be projected on to the ‘retina’, making it an extremely effective demonstration tool.
The complete model is mounted on a wooden base.
Overall Dimensions of 320 x 180mm length x height.
